New Post-Primary School for Ashbourne, Commencing September 2014

A new post-primary school will be established in Ashbourne for September 2014 under the patronage of Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (formerly Co Meath VEC).

The new school will cater for 1,000 students and will include a 700 pupil Coláiste de Lacy and a 300 pupil Irish Unit (Aonad lán Gaeilge; Gaelcholáiste De Lacy) which will provide all subjects to Leaving Certificate level, through the medium of Irish.

Patronage of the new school was awarded to Co. Meath VEC by the Department of Education and Skills following a bid that had enormous support from the Ashbourne community and from surrounding areas.
